Holding the No.1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for the three weeks since its release, Drake finally dropped the much-anticipated music video to go along with the single “God’s Plan”, off of his Scary Hours EP. And it is totally worth it!
The video starts off with the caption “The budget for this video was $996,631.90. We gave it all away. Don’t tell the label.”, and indeed Drake delivers.
With scenes shot all over the Miami, Drake goes around donating money to schools, paying for people’s full carts of groceries and literally handing out stacks of cash, among other things, to random strangers.
The transition between those emotional scenes with genuinely grateful reactions of those strangers, and Drake’s unforgettable Hotline Bling dance moves encore, are just straight up uplifting and inspirational.
Marshmello’s third single released this year, FRIENDS, in collaboration with up-and-coming British sensation, Anne-Marie, has officially become the highest debuted track, globally, for a British female in 2018!
The story of the video, is one we are all too familiar with: being in the friendzone, but it is delivered from both narratives. Throughout the video, we see Marshmello’s attempt to capture Anne-Marie’s attention and find his way out of the friendzone by doing -what he believes to be- thoughtful gestures, but gone completely wrong.
Anne-Marie, on the other hand, as the title clearly suggests, just wants to be friends, and if that wasn’t clear enough, she will spell out for you all throughout the video with plenty of attitude and a #girlboss performance.
This track truly is the friendzone anthem.
The first single from 'Black Panther: The Album', is Kendrick Lamar’s All The Stars, featuring SZA. And the music video for this track is consistent with the movie’s Afrofuturistic vibes, and just as visually marvellous.
The music video for this track starts off with Kendrick Lamar in a boat, seemingly floating amidst a sea of people waving their arms. And right from the start, you can feel that the music video will truly be a visually cinematic experience like no other.
Prepare for inventive visuals, such as Lamar standing before an army of towering goddesses, running with panthers, African rich colours and costumes, and SZA dancing in in a constellation of stars shaped like Africa.
Those two talented artists collaborating make for, not only an amazing track, but also a masterpiece of a music video!
We couldn’t have wished for a better dream team, and we still can’t believe it’s actually happening! Our personal favourites Rudimental and Jess Glynne are on a track together, and we are living for it!
Having collaborated with Rudimental and Jess Glynne ourselves, we’re stocked those two got together as well, to bless our ears with this track!
These days’ video is about a young couple, Jess and Macklemore, and is shot in beautiful graffiti-filled streets of London and Seattle. It starts off with a rap verse by Macklemore, followed by Dan Caplen’s amazing emotional vocals, paving the way for Jess Glynne’s catchy chorus.
The video features the early stages of any relationship, where the couple is enjoying everyday activities together, hanging out with friends and having a good time. The story then shows the downfall of the relationship, where the couple starts fighting, and they realize it’s best for both of them to let go of their relationship.
If you’ve been in a relationship where the good times are good and bad ones are heart-breaking, yet you still fondly reminisce about those good times and wish you could just get back together with your ex to laugh about those times, this video will entirely sum it up in 3:37 minutes!
*Hint: for extra Goosebumps, keep your eye on the necklace at 0:14 throughout the video!
As if the unlikely collaboration between first ever Academy Award winning hip-hop artist Eminem, and World's Best-Selling Recording Artist of 2017, Ed Sheeran, wasn’t reason enough to be curious about this mesh of genres in their newest track, the music video definitely should be. The video is not like anything either of them has ever done before.
The video starts off with sort of a confessional video footage, where the interviewer asks Eminem ‘what does love mean to you?’. From there, the video shifts between layers of interviews, the stories of struggles behind the interviews, the chorus sung by Ed Sheeran, and killer rap verses by Eminem.
Director Emil Nava’s aim was to create a documentary of a song, where the lines between reality and fiction are blurred. And that’s exactly what he delivered.
Multiplatinum certified Years & Years are back! Returning from her hiatus, and the debut of their first album Communion in 2015, Years & Years released this dark, electro-inspired track, with their signature synthetic pop sound.
Set in a dystopian world, lead singer Olly Alexander plays one of the humans abducted by androids and made to dance to entertain what seems to be the royalty of the fantasy city of Palo Santo. The visuals of the video are vibrant and theatrical, and so is Olly’s performance!
The video is completely up to the personal interpretation of the viewer, which makes it all the more exciting to watch!
With the sentence ‘Part One: Sanctify’ appearing right at the beginning of the video, we can only assume there are sequels to come, and a new chapter for band begins!
Khalid’s rendition of Tracy Chapman’s ‘Fast Car’ was seriously impressive, and we will tell you why.
This legendary song has been covered by so many artists, it’s hard to find a cover that is actually as amazing as Khalid’s, he stood out and totally owned it.
His characteristic R&B vocals, along with the song’s familiar sound, made for an intimate cover with unique energy, only Khalid can bring.
Written by Grammy-winner Ed Sheeran, breakout California pop group Why Don't We dropped the much-anticipated video for their new song 'Trust Fund Baby,'.
In ‘Trust Fund Baby’, the boys sing about their desire for a strong, independent woman with a mind, rather than a ‘trust fund baby’ with a ‘fake tan, short skirt, daddy’s money, don’t work’; as the chorus goes: ‘I don't really want no trust fund baby, I like my women independent’. And that is exactly what is featured throughout the video; women fixing cars, beating the boys at sports, and programming robots to pass notes.
Aside from the catchy tune of the song, Ed’s Sheeran’s lyrical mastermind skills, and the boys shifting between rapping and melodic singing, the music video with those strong independent women is pure uplifting.
Since his last album five years ago, Jon Hopkins is back with a video for the newest track off his new album, Emerald Rush: an epic multi-media visual journey!
Along with the awesome atmospherics, chaotic electronics, smooth synth transitions in the beat, the music video as just as trippy; a perfect companion to the journey.
The animated music video features a young boy in a hoodie, who seems to have slipped into an alternative dimension. In this dimension, he comes across a beetle that has his face on the back of its wings, only to find out it’s not the only one. Curious yet? Follow this boy’s trip as he follows the beetle into a cave and gets transported again to different dimensions throughout the video.
Watching this video and listening to the song is guaranteed to give you an adrenaline rush, and sooth you at the same time!
