24 Hours In Ghent

Sarah and Sander from Ghentstreets take us around their neighbourhood in Ghent, covering everything from running spots, healthy lunches and great views to boutique shopping and pop-up clubs.

Clouds in my Coffee / 10am

We like to start our day with a good breakfast at Clouds in my Coffee . Located just outside the city center near Dampoort, it’s a little further out but definitely worth the journey especially as Dampoort is an up-and-coming neighbourhood.

Portus Ganda / 1.30pm

One of the favourite things locals like to do is to gather on a sunny day and have drinks with their friends. Just bring a bottle, some snacks and you’ll experience a great afternoon.

Koperhuis / 3pm

During the afternoon, we love strolling around the city center and discovering new stores that are constantly popping up. One of our latest discoveries is Koperhuis , a place that sells great minimalist furniture and accessories.

Rewind / 3.45pm

Two of our favourite stores in Ghent are run by the same entrepreneur, Christophe Urbain. One is Rewind , which began as a women’s clothing store but proved so popular that they have since opened a separate store for men as well.

Humor / 4.15pm

Humor , the second store by Christophe Urbain, is a true concept store with furniture, home accessories and fashion for men and women, where every season they focus on a different clothing brand.

Blanco Bike Luxury / 4.45pm

Blanco Bikes offers new and vintage parts of bikes so that you can personalise your own model, which is great as bikes are a huge part of the lifestyle here in Ghent. You’ll also notice that people invest more in their ride than they used to, and Blanco Bikes offers the ‘crème de la crème’.

De Superette / 7pm

Ghent has different restaurants by young promising chefs called ‘the Flemish Foodies’, and De Superette by Kobe Desramaults is one of the hot spots when it comes to dinner. The location is an amazing old supermarket!

Cafe Gomez / 10pm

When the sun goes down, Ghent turns into a great place to go out, but since parties start rather late we like to go out for a pre-drink first. Cafe Gomez is a brand-new tapas bar in Ghent where people come to have a bite to eat and enjoy a great cocktail.

Club 69 / 12am

Once you are truly in the mood, you can head over to Club 69 , which is just down the road from Cafe Gomez. Club 69 is a small club filled with hip people and good music – the perfect combination for an inspiring and fun evening.
