Electro beats under the hot sun: Echelon Festival

Until 2004, only the US intelligence agency NSA had perked up its ears on Bad Aibling’s festival site. From here, the Echelon surveillance programme listened in on the world’s conversations. Back then, no one would have expected the world to come here and listen to something entirely different: the biggest beats of the freshest newcomers and hottest DJs of the electronic music and house scene, completely spy-free. Today we know: what happens in Bad Aibling, stays in Bad Aibling. Guaranteed.

Bombastic shows, terrific sets, happy faces, raving bodies and oonse-oonse-oonse at its best: Echelon Festival’s popularity has skyrocketed in the last nine years, clearing one prize after the other. What was once an event of 3,500 has evolved into Bavaria’s biggest electronic music and house festival. And big is definitely beautiful: a carefully curated line-up of 60 DJs and live acts of national and international acclaim attracts festivalgoers from all over the world and gets that crowd dancing. Care for some names? Alle Farben & Friends, Don Diablo, Monika Kruse and Yellow Claw.

Can’t wait? Follow us on this imaginary journey to the festival site: just like in previous years, there will be a shuttle bus from Munich’s central station, excellent camping options for those with a full weekend ticket - both for tents and caravans - and if that isn’t enough, there’s a VIP ticket with a ton of extras for the full weekend or just for Saturday. If you’ve got a full weekend ticket, you’re also invited to our warming-up in the circus tent or the Katermukke hangover floor - the weekend tickets are however strictly limited to 4,000. 18 years and over only. Like we said - what happens in Bad Aibling, stays in Bad Aibling.

When packing your bags, keep Echelon’s motto in mind: let’s be weird together! Just be comfortable and tap into the festival’s legendary atmosphere. A couple of must-haves: loud colours, unusual accessories, airy cuts and fun prints. Our favourite for the evening breeze: the colour-blocked hoodie!
