#LoveMyHood: 24hrs In Mallorca

Sunshine, beaches and great food! Mallorca is the perfect destination for Mikutas. Follow Jaqueline and Klemens around in their #LoveMyHood guide.

It’s summer, the sun is shining and we all want to travel! If we don’t live in a warm country we try to get away to the beach, on a city-trip or just go somewhere warm to relax. Every summer we pack our bags and go to Mallorca. It’s always sunny, beautiful beaches and great food! Mallorca has everything to offer, both beach and city, so we bring clothes that work for both.

Since we have been to Mallorca quite a few times we have some favourite places that we want to share with you.

Down by el Paseo Maritimo in Palma you can find The Boat House which is right by the water. Its open the whole day serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, or you can go just for drinks. Our favourite is to have breakfast there. We usually opt for a bowl of fresh fruit and granola and a big plate of American pancakes. A perfect start of the day on the prettiest terrace!

Swim & Sun

Although Mallorca is full of beautiful beaches, there are always a lot of people. We try to avoid those places and find quieter beaches, where we can relax, swim and read our books. We’ve been going to a beach called Costa de la Calma for the past few years. It’s a pebble beach, so no sand, but there is always a nice breeze which makes the heat bearable. The water is crystal clear and the best part of all - they have an amazing little place where they serve Pa amb Oli (bread with tomato) and ice cold mojitos!

Dinner & Drinks

Just by Magaluf beach is a place called Chili Lounge where we love to go. We either go straight from the beach for some nachos, or we go later in the evening for dinner with cocktails and great music. This place serves delicious Mexican food such as fajitas and tacos, not forgetting the frozen Margaritas! The restaurant is on the walking street on the beach so the view is amazing and the later it gets, the more people come to enjoy their evening before heading out to party in the area.

This year I wore my grey romper a lot during the holiday, first because I love how it looks like a dress but doesn’t fly up in the wind, second it’s so easy to just throw it over my bikini before or after the beach and third because it’s a stylish casual look. I wore it with my blue Bench bag which works for every occasion, it fits all my stuff in and was perfect for the whole trip.

When Klemens is on holiday he tends to wear more colourful outfits than at home. So what is better than a pair of colourful shorts? The turquoise Bench shorts with dotted pattern looked good on their own for the beach and then with a t-shirt with coordinating print when heading for lunch or dinner. He opted for a darker pair of shorts for swimming in and wore the striped/flowery printed swim shorts which are the perfect length and fit.
