Ones2Watch: Doorly

It was five years ago when we last worked with Doorly. Celebrating the Royal Wedding of Will & Kate, we designed a kitsch dubplate and Doorly teamed up with us to create an exclusive mix. We catch up with him again, half a decade later, as he heads back to Ibiza; his second home.

It was five years ago when we last worked with Doorly. Celebrating the Royal Wedding of Will & Kate, we designed a kitsch dubplate and Doorly teamed up with us to create an exclusive mix of inspired by Elgar’s ‘Land of Hope and Glory’. We had so much fun on the project & have kept tabs on his career ever since. From humble beginnings promoting events to then be championed by Pete Tong, producing tracks for the biggest artists in world as well as his own releases and events, Doorly’s continuous rise within the dance music scene is a true testament of what happens when you take your talent and run with it. We catch up with him again, half a decade later, as he heads back to Ibiza; his second home.

What are you up for this summer?

This will be my 11th season on the island. It has been amazing watching it evolve and develop. When I first went there it was strictly house, techno & trance. Ibiza Rocks really opened the door by bringing live music as well as bass music.

My Doorly & Friends parties now take up residency at Space for its last year on the Island and I will be continuing my special intimate gatherings at Pikes Hotel on Monday nights.

What´s next for Doorly?

I guess the next thing that I'm venturing into is being a label boss. There's so much amazing unheard talent out there I’m hoping to use my own label to help some people out in the same way some of my now peers helped me out in my early days.

I've been working on a project with Switch with a new artist called Tan Dem. Also a DJ I really rate and will be releasing on my forthcoming label is a guy called Will Tramp, he's been resident at Warehouse Project for years and is a tried and tested beast of a DJ.

Musically I have some pretty big releases about to drop: a collab with Switch featuring Idris Elba, a collab with house music godfather Marshall Jefferson, a release on Seth Troxler’s label & and also I will be mixing the new Cajual records compilation with Green Velvet.
